Skeeter

Welcome to my blog and thanks for following! The writings are created by me, Jennifer Alfia DiMarzo and the material presented over the next five weeks are photographs also taken by me. I hope that you may be able to join me once a week, throughout the next year on my creative journey! Enjoy!

His fur was charcoal black, with a mane-like necklace around his neck and shoulders, similar to that of a lion's.   He was referred to as a bunny rabbit but to Charlie he was much more than that.  He named him Skeeter.  It took Skeeter eons to chew and digest the Cheerios Charlie would lay out on the linoleum tile for him, much longer than it would have taken any lion!  Water, Skeeter's beverage of choice, was sipped as slow as a turtle moves.  Charlie was always afraid that he was going to break Skeeter's back whenever he had the guts to hold him.  Skeeter was as delicate as a feather, and of course did not have the hard shell a turtle has on it's back.  (One could surely relate why Charlie was so tentative).  Though the time the two of them spent together was minimal, the meals and quiet times shared were deeply memorable occassions for the both of them.   The departure lasted the greatest length.  The moment the car pulled into the driveway of the farm where the little girl lived, Charlie's eyes filled up with water.  He couldn't hold back the tears when handing over the cage to the new young owner in pig tails, who was busy combing her Barbie's hair.  Charlie immediately thought back to the hours he would spend brushing the rabbit's coat, knowing how much Skeeter enjoyed his caressing movements.  Charlie's eyes met the little girl's eyes just at that very moment and they happily agreed upon weekly visitations.  Skeeter was one lucky bunny and Charlie, knowing this wouldn't be the last time he saw Skeeter, was once again one happy little boy.
