The Value of Time
Welcome to my blog and thanks for following! The writings are created by me, Jennifer Alfia DiMarzo and the photographs presented are also taken by me. (Although the one above was taken by my mother, D. Brien). I appreciate your time and dedication as I travel into my tenth month of blog writings. I hope that you may be able to continue joining me once a week, throughout the remaining few months of my creative year long journey! Enjoy!
"Always be sure to take the time to stop and smell the roses"...She rehearsed this like a broken record in her head as she slowly picked another Cortland and tossed it carefully into the basket. It's funny how time goes, she thought to herself. One minute you're celebrating your fourteenth birthday, the next minute you're cringing because the big 4 - 0 seems right around the corner. The big oak tree limb finally fell in her backyard the other day. Some said the tree was dead from the very beginning. Veronica and her were just glad they weren't walking around the backyard at the time it decided to go. She thought back to the weekend at the orchard and how it was breathtaking watching Sabrina giggle and happily grunt as she sucked the life out of her Cortland. They were all pleased to see this happening before their very eyes. It took only twenty minutes to arrive at the orchard that day. They enjoyed the pickings and the banjo playing for nearly two hours, but when arriving home, it seemed they never left. She felt like she had to redo the whole thing again, like it didn't really happen. But it did. Sabrina stared back at her wide eyed and full of life. They all looked forward to the wonderful evening ahead baking pies in the brisk kitchen with Nana. "Who wants to core the apples?" She thought of how he said he could never bite into a whole piece of fruit and imagined this pie would be the most fasciniating he had ever tasted. Never ask the time.
