She couldn't decide which was better - the conversation or the food. The art of the conversation was extremely interesting and intriguing, as the food was entirely delicious and stimulating to the tongue, thus making it difficult to get up and walk away from either of the two. If she was not participating in the current topic, she was busy taking a bite or two of the heavenly bliss. The cherry red baked tomatoes along the top of the eclectic Italian dish, reminded her of her family history. Her Nana-Nana came over on the boat from Italy, barely speaking any English. She was completely dedicated to the Catholic church as well as to cooking loads of tasty homemade meals in her kitchen. The fresh julienned vegetables stuffed inside the solid pie, refreshed her memory of the prolific times when she would assist her Nano with the ripe pickings from his glorious vegetable gardens. It seemed everyone whom surrounded the dining table on this extra special day threw a kiss, a squeeze of the arm or a strong pinch of the cheek her way at that very moment. The connection they all felt towards each other was deep, unlike any other. The hot, moist carmelized onions and peppers slid down each of their throats with such grace, just as another family story was beginning to unfold. Her mind was definitely made up - the power of the strong conversation and wonderful memories, needed the balance of the integration of the fine home baked food to go with it. She then savored another bite of her frittata while one of her uncle's shared a story about the family catering business.
